FhG IISB

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft (FhG) is Germany’s leading organization of institutes of applied research. It contracts with private industry and government agencies for research and development projects in the fields of natural and engineering sciences. It currently maintains 80 research establishments throughout Germany, with a staff of 20.000 people, the majority of whom are scientists and engineers. The Fraunhofer Institute of Integrated Systems and Device Technology (IISB) in Erlangen, Germany, conducts applied research and development as a partner for industry and public institutions. Founded in 1985, FhG IISB is traditionally dedicated to semiconductor technology for micro- and nano-electronics. With a staff of more than 200, research is carried out in close co-operation with industrial partners from large as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
